Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by George Menge that was taken in Orangeville, Maryland, during November of 1962. Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5962, a BS-6A switcher built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in March of 1948 and rated at 660 horsepower. Partially visible at the right is PRR engine #5883, an EP-20 built by GM-EMD in April of 1949 and rated at 2,000 horsepower. The number of the "NB" Class cabin car is not recorded. Station. Here is an original telephoto view that I took near the Pennsylvania Railroad's Passenger Station in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on the afternoon of 11 December 1965. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engine #5900 and two other units whose numbers are not legible. All were built by EMD. #5900 is an EP-20 built in 1945 and rated at 2,000; it was the first EMD passenger Diesel delivered to the PRR. They are pulling a westbound mail/express train and are about to pass under the 12th Street Bridge. The gray, two-storey building on the left is the Railway Express Office. Mann. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken near Newport, Pennsylvania, c. 1961. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9784 and two more "EF" Class units whose road numbers are not recorded. All were built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. #9784 is an EF-15A built in February of 1951 and retired in December of 1967 after just 16 years of revenue service. In this context, this A-B-A set is pulling a mixed-cargo freight train out of Enola to Altoona and points West. Visible at the left is a small portion of the ice-covered Juniata River.
