Here is the front cover of the Pennsylvania Railroad Company's 101st Annual Report for the Year Ending 31 December 1947. Issued: 28 January 1948. Color illustration by Mr. Grif Teller. The painting proper is called "Progressive Power." Depicted in the foreground (R to L) is PRR engine #5900 and two more units whose road numbers are not recorded. All are EP-20's built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,000 horsepower each. #5900 was built in September of 1945. It was published originally in the November 1979 issue of "Trains" magazine, page 49. Top Photo Caption: "If there was a sight more impressive than one M-1a in action it was that of two such machines; 6738 and 6795 shake up the south side of Chicago on April 10, 1947." Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #6738 and #6795. Here is the third of three successive original photos by John S. Fisher that were taken in Crestline, Ohio, in October of 1955. Caption On Reverse: "Pennsy Q-2 scrap at Crestline, Ohio, yards. Oct. 1955." Prominent here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #6195 and #6197. Both were built in Juniata; neither of them saw more than ten years of service. #6195 was built in June of 1945 and retired in January of 1956, while #6197 was built in June of 1945 and retired in December of 1955.
