Title:
PRR 6774, M-1A, c. 1946
Description:
Here is an original photo that was taken near Canton, Ohio. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6774, an M-1A (4-8-2) "Mountain" built in Juniata during November of 1930 and retired in February of 1956 after 26 years of faithful service. This is the very last "Mountain" built by Juniata. The photographer's name and the exact date are not recorded. ("Hyee_Auctions"; #3 of 4)

Title:
Altoona RR Pictorial History, Page 39, 1996
Description:
Here is a photo that was included in the "Altoona Area Railroad Pictorial History" edited by Linda White and published in 1996 by The Altoona Mirror, page 39. Photo Caption: "M-1 locomotive sits at the northwest corner of the Erecting & Machine Shop in this photo taken in 1957." Given the purported date of this photo, my best guess at the number of this locomotive is PRR engine #6774, an M-1A (4-8-2) "Mountain" built in Juniata during November of 1930, retired in February of 1956, and here being "cannibalized" for parts. Alas....
