Here is an original photo of Pennsylvania Railroad engine #3538, an H-9S (2-8-0) "Consolidated" built in Juniata during October of 1913 and retired in January of 1955 after 42 years of faithful service. Note that the bell and the main driving rods have been removed in preparation for scrapping. The photographer's name, the exact date, and the location are not recorded.
