Here is page five of a 13-page article by Mr. William Moedinger, Jr., entitled "East Broad Top." It was published originally in the August 1941 issue of "Trains" magazine, page 8. Top Right-Hand Photo, Partial Caption: "Nos. 16, 17, and 18 are the road's three heaviest Mikados." Engine #17 was built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during March of 1918. Bottom Photo Captions: "Robertsdale station agent R.D. Potts is one of the youngest employees. He waits here with mail for [Train] No. 3. Gas-electric car M-1 substitutes for the mixed trains when mines are closed, and can pull trailer or box cars." |
