Title:
PRR Juniata E&M Shop Yard, 1967
Description:
Altoona Action. Here is an original 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken in the Pennsylvania Railroad's Erecting & Machine Shop storage yard in Altoona, Pennsylvania, in July of 1967. Prominent here is PRR engine #9914, an AS-10AMS built by the American Locomotive Company as number "8485" in May of 1952, rated at 1,000 horsepower, and later renumbered "9914" in preparation for the Pennsylvania-New York Central merger. Brush Mountain dominates the distance.
