PRR 8943, LS-25M, 1966 |
Description: |
Waters. Here is an original photo that I took in Altoona, Pennsylvania, in mid-February of 1966. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #8943, a LS-25M built by Lima-Hamilton in May of 1951, rated at 2,500 horsepower, and retired in July of 1966 after just 15 years of revenue service. It's parked under the East Altoona Coaling Tipple next to PRR engine #9626-B, an ALCo AF-16 unit. |
