Title:
PC 2636, U25B, c. 1971
Description:
PC Power. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione. Shown here (R to L) is Penn Central Railroad engine #2636 plus two Southern Pacific Railroad units whose road numbers are not recorded. #2636 is a U25B built by General Electric for the Pennsylvania Railroad as number "2536" in February of 1965, rated at 2,500 horsepower, and renumbered "2636" in preparation for the PRR-NYC merger. Partially visible in the hazy distance is the "Gateway to the West" arch in St. Louis, Missouri. The photographer's name, the exact date, and the location are not recorded. ("LouisFols" B; #4 of 4)
