Here is page six of an eight-page article by Bert Pennypacker entitled "Who's The No. 2 Ore Hauler?" It was published originally in the September 1962 issue of "Trains" magazine, page 39. Top Photo, Partial Caption: "Notch-nose Alco DL-600's crest the Alleghenies at Gallitzin, Pa., as the 2400 h.p. C-C's rev under a position-light signal bridge with ore hoppers behind them." Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #8608 and #8607. Both are APS-24MS's built by the American Locomotive Company in December of 1955 and rated at 2,400 horsepower each.
