Album Info:Here is an eight-page article by Mr. Bert Pennypacker entitled "Who's The No. 2 Ore Hauler?" It was published originally in the September 1962 issue of "Trains" magazine, pages 34-41. "Among the country's major ore haulers, Pennsy shares a nip-and-tuck situation with the little 500-mile-long giant of the north: Deluth, Missabe, & Iron Range. In round figures, 1960 tonnange of the Missabe Road topped PRR's by 11 million; at the same time, the keystone carrier was ahead in gross ore revenues by an identical figure: 11 million dollars." (Page 35) Also included is a poem by Mr. Don Buchholz called "Extra 728 East."

Shown here (F to R) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6717 and another locomotive whose road number is not recorded. #6717 is an M-1B (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an M-1A during April of 1930, rebuilt in Juniata as an M-1B in March of 1948, and retired in September of 1958 after 28 years of faithful service.
