PRR 46, F-1, 1859         
WB. Here is an image of a photo entitled "The Altoona PRR yard crew of 1859." Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #46, an F-1 (2-6-0) "Mogul," built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as the Class D (2-6-0, 18x22 cylinders, 44" drivers) "Lancaster" during 1852, numbered 46 in 1857, rebuilt in 1866 (18x24 cylinders, 48" drivers), rebuilt again in the Altoona Machine Shops as a Class F-1 (4-6-0) and renumbered 46 (2nd) in May of 1867, and sold to Brown & Thomas in March of 1887. The names of the Railroaders pictured here and of the photographer, as well as the exact date and the location, are not recorded. William E. Burket Collection.
