Portraits 1. Here is a diesel locomotive portrait via Paul W. Prescott that was taken at the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 20 July 1954. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #9692, #9543-B, and #9693. All were built by GM-EMD as EH-15's, rated at 1,500 horsepower each, and later regeared and reclassified as EF-15A's. #9692 was built in April of 1949 and retired in November of 1965; #9543-B was constructed in February of 1949 and retired in May of 1966; #9693 was built in April of 1949 and retired in July of 1966. They're heading down the Allegheny Mountains with a manifest freight train bound for Enola and points East. (#6 of 20)
