Here are 20 portraits of Pennsylvania Railroad diesel-electric locomotives built by the Electro-Motive Division of General Motors (GM-EMD). All of them come from 2.75" x 4.50" photos that I purchased in a single eBay auction conducted by Mr. Nathan Dahms on Tuesday, 09 February 2021. The photographer's name, the locomotive road number(s), the exact date, and the location are cited when available.

Portraits 1. Here is diesel locomotive portrait featuring Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9501, an EF-15 built by GM-EMD in July of 1947, rated at 1,500 horsepower, and retired in November of 1962 after just 15 years of revenue service. Perhaps this is a test run of the PRR's first F-3A road diesel? Note the soon-to-be-extinct steam locomotive at the far left. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #9546, #9546-B, and #9540-B. All were built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. #9546 and #9546-B were built as EH-15's in November of 1948, and later regeared and reclassified as EF-15A's; #9546 was retired in December of 1963, while #9546-B was retired in December of 1966. Engine #9540-B is an EH-15 constructed in July of 1948 and retired in December of 1963. (#2 of 20)

Portraits 1. Here is a diesel locomotive portrait via Paul W. Prescott that was taken at the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 20 July 1954. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #9692, #9543-B, and #9693. All were built by GM-EMD as EH-15's, rated at 1,500 horsepower each, and later regeared and reclassified as EF-15A's. #9692 was built in April of 1949 and retired in November of 1965; #9543-B was constructed in February of 1949 and retired in May of 1966; #9693 was built in April of 1949 and retired in July of 1966. They're heading down the Allegheny Mountains with a manifest freight train bound for Enola and points East. (#6 of 20)
