Here is page two of a four-page article by Helen Thomson entitled "The Black Wall." It was published originally in the March 1953 issue of "Trains & Travel" magazine, page 28. Illustration Caption: "Pennsylvania's class R Consolidation was only four years old when the water took its toll." Illustrated here is PRR engine #400, a Class R (2-8-0) built in the Altoona Machine Shops during October of 1885 and retired in July of 1914 after 29 years of extraorinary service.
