Title:
AMTK 4904, GG-1, 1979
Description:
Amtrak. Here is an original photo that I took of an Amtrak locomotive in Larchmont, New York, on 07 September 1979. Shown here is Amtrak engine #4904, a GG-1 (2-C-C-2) electric built by the Pennsylvania Railroad in Juniata as number "4901" during May of 1940, rated at 4,620 horsepower, and later renumbered AMTK "4904." It is running light from Sunnyside Yard to New Haven, Connecticut. Also visible is a portion of Interstate Highway 95 on the right.
