Title:
PRR 7226, EFS-17M, 1964
Description:
Blairsville. Here is an original photo that I took in Blairsville, Pennsylvania, on 25 October 1964. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #7226, #2266, #2232, and #2237. All were built by GM-EMD. #7226 is an EFS-17M built in December of 1957 and rated at 1,750 horsepower. #2266 is an EF-25 built in May of 1964 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. #2232 and #2237 are EF-22's rated at 2,250 horsepower each; #2232 was built in April of 1963 and #2237 was built one month later. They're pulling a 94-car westbound iron-ore train with two cabin cars (viz., #477449 and #477936) on the Blairsville Secondary Track.
