Title:
PRR 4673, I-1SA, 1951
Description:
AHC. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Bill Price that was taken at the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 13 August 1951. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4673, an I-1SA (2-10-0) "Decapod" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an I-1S during November of 1923, rebuilt in Juniata as an I-1SA in July of 1941, and retired in August of 1956 after 33 years' service. Looks to me like it's pulling a ballast-cleaning train while on Track #3.
