Coal Power. Here is an original photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken in East St. Louis, Illinois, on 3 October 1938. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5424, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during February of 1927 and retired in April of 1956 after 29 years of faithful service.
