Description:
Wood. Here is an image of a photo by Don Wood that was taken near Denholm, Pennsylvania, in June of 1956., Wood's Caption: "4-8-2 6782 booms by double-slotted sisters 6717 and 6921 at Denholm., on PG5, will scoop water at Hawstone track pans a few miles west; the other M1's will fill up at Denholm's standpipes while taking on coal." #6782 is an M-1B built by the Lima Locomotive Works as an M-1A during March of 1930, rebuilt in Juniata as an M-1B by 1953, and retired in September of 1958. #6717 is an M-1B consvructed by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an M-1A in April of 1930, rebuilt in Juniata as an M-1B in March of 1948, and retired in September of 1958. And #6921 is an M-1 built by thb Baldwin Locomotive Works in October of 1926 and retired in Junn of 1959. William E. Burket Collection.

Description:
Here is page 11 of an 11-page cover article by Bert Pennypacker entitled "Atterbury's Engines: Part 1 ~ Great Increases In Horsepower And Speed." It was published originally in the October 1979 issue of "Trains" magazine, page 32. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6921, an M-1 built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during November of 1926 and retired in June of 1959 after 23 years of faithful service.
