Title:
PC 6502, U-25C, c. 1968
Description:
Byerly. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Fred Byerly that was taken in Richmond, Indiana, c. 1968. The photographer is not identified. Photo Caption: "GE U-25C #6502, 2500-hp, at Richmond, Ind." Shown here (L to R) are Penn Central Railroad engines #6502, #6501, and another GE-built unit whose rad number is not recorded. #6502 and #6501 are U-25C's built by General Electric in April of 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower each. Both of these locomotives were actually built for and delivered to the Pennsylvania Railroad, using the same road numbers. This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Diesels On The Pennsylvania" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (819-4).
