Here is a portion of a two-page spread included in a 24-page cover article entitled "Horseshoe Curve: 150 Years." It was published originally in the August 2004 issue of "Trains" magazine, pages 60-61. Partial Caption: "A westward Norfolk Southern trailer train, led by a C40-9W [#9541] on October 20, 2001, epitomizes modern railroading on the Curve. Two miles west of Horseshoe, MG (Mid-Grade) Tower, built in 1944, stands silent, its crossovers and US&S position-light targets now remotely controlled. Photo by Mark Leppert."
