Here is a postal card entitled "Rockville Bridge ~ Harrisburg, Penna." Annotated Date: 6 August 1964. Caption On Reverse: "Completed in 1902 and recognized as the longest stone arch bridge in the world, it serves as a connecting link between Marysville and Rockville ~ on opposite shores of the Susquehanna River ~ for railroad traffic between New York and the West. It crosses U.S. Route 22 a few miles North of Harrisburg. Ektachrome by Les Smith." Note the A-A set of Baldwin-built "Sharks" pulling a mixed-cargo freight train across the Bridge to the Enola Yards. |
