Here is page 13 of a 78-page booklet published by Harry P. Albrecht entitled "Those Amazing Class 'D' Locomotives." It was issued originally in June of 1981. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #10, a D-6 (4-4-0) "American" built in the Altoona Machine Shops during March of 1881, later rebuilt as a D-6A, and retired in October of 1907 after 26 years of faithful service. It's the very first Pennsy standard D-6. |
