PRR 6821, M-1, #1 of 2, c. 1953         
Here is the first of two successive original photos by Douglas C. Jones that were taken from the 17th Street Bridge in the Juniata section of Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1953. Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6821, an M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during September of 1926 and retired in April of 1956. Partially visible in the background is engine #6803, an M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by Baldwin in August of 1926 and retired in December of 1955.
