Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Fred Kern that was taken near Duncannon, Pennsylvania, on 24 July 1955. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6727, an M-1A (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during May of 1930 and retired in August of 1956 after 26 years of service. It's pulling a westbound mixed-cargo freight train along the eastward-flowing Susquehanna River. Produced and distributed by Audio-Visual Designs. ("LouisFols"; #13 of 16) |
