17th Street. Here is an image of an official photo of the Pennsylvania Railroad's engine ladder and ready tracks facing East at the 17th Street Bridge in Altoona, Pennsylvania. This photo was taken about 1880. Shown here is #3 Roundhouse at the far right, #2 Roundhouse (domed) in the center, and the Passenger Station's train shed at the left. Also of note are the many locomotives at the right, the three-way stub switch at the lower right, and the three Railroaders down the line waiting for orders as to which way to throw their respective switches.
