Approaching here is an Amtrak passenger train pulled by engine #206, an F40PH built by GM-EMD in July of 1976 and rated at 3,200 horsepower. This train has just departed Union Station and has roared through the tunnels under Washington's streets on its way to Richmond and points South. |

Shown here (L to R) are Amtrak engines #363 and #351. Both were built by GM-EMD and rated at 3,000 horsepower each. #363 is an F40PHR built in April of 1981, while #351 is an F40PH built in November of 1980. In this context, they're pulling Amtrak's version of the once-fabled "Broadway Limited" near Millerstown, Pennsylvania, in July of 1981. |
