Title:
PC 8062, LRS-1200, c. 1969
Description:
PC Power. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Fred Byerly that was taken near Burlington, New Jersey, c. 1969. Photo Caption: "Lima 1200-hp. (EMD engines), PC #8062. Burlington, N.J." Penn Central Railroad engine #8062 is an LRS-1200 built by Lima-Hamilton as New York Central Railroad number "5810" in September of 1950, rated at 1,200 horsepower, later rebuilt with a GM-EMD prime mover, and renumbered "8062" in preparation for the PRR-NYC merger. This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Fairbanks-Morse and Lima Diesels ~ Eastern and Canadian Roads" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (902-58).
