Here is the second of four original photos of deadlined GG-1's that were taken by an unidentified photographer at Amtrak's Electric Locomotive Shops in Wilmington, Delaware, on 21 June 1981. Shown here (L to R) are AMTK engines #4914, #4928, and two other units whose road numbers are not recorded. All are GG-1 (2-C-C-2) electrics built by the Pennsylvania Railroad's Juniata Shops and rated at 4,620 horsepower each. #4914 was constructed in June of 1942, while #4928 was built in April of 1943 and originally numbered "4937." |
