Coal Power. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide (converted to B&W) by an unidentified photographer that was taken in Sharpsburg, Pennsylvania, on 24 April 1960. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6442, a J-1 (2-10-4) "Texas" built in Juniata during November of 1943 and retired in February of 1960 after just 17 years of revenue service. Missing are its bell, builder's badge, keystone number plate, and dignity. William P. Nixon Collection #50452.
