Description:
Here is page six of a six-page cover article by Bert Pennypacker entitled "Conquering The Alleghenies In 1923." It was published originally in the "National Railway Bulletin," Volume 53, Number 2, 1988, page 9. Partial Caption: "Here No. 6333 drifts down and around Horse Shoe Curve, on the way back to Altoona for another go at the 'Hill.'" PRR engine #6333 is an I-1SA "Decapod" built in Juniata as an I-1S during August of 1919, rebuilt as an I-1SA in October of 1944, and retired in February of 1958 after 39 years of faithful service.
