Enola. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione. Shown here are two Pennsylvania Railroad engines: #9405 and #5911. Both are ES-6 switchers built by GM-EMD and rated at 600 horsepower each. #9405 was constructed in September of 1950. #5911 was built as number "3908" in June of 1937, later renumbered "5911," and renumbered "8511" in preparation for the PRR-NYC merger; it was one of the PRR's very first diesel purchases. Description:
Enola. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken in Enola, Pennsylvania, c. 1968. The photographer is not identified. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6909, an ES-17M built by GM-EMD as number "7606" in December of 1957, rated at 1,750 horsepower, and renumbered "6909" in preparation for the PRR-NYC merger. At the right is PRR N-5 cabin car #477411. A portion of the frozen Susquehanna River is visible in the background.
