Bottom Photo Caption: "Another day's work done. Crew departs between aisles of old and middle-aged GG1's and their E-44 nephews." Partially visible here (L & R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #4873 and #4421. #4873 is a GG-1 (2-C-C-2) electric built in Juniata during January of 1939 and rated at 4,620 horsepower. #4421 is an E-44 (C-C) electric built by General Electric in October of 1961 and rated at 4,400 horsepower. |
