It was published originally in the December 1965 issue of "Trains" magazine, page 44. Bottom-Right Photo Caption: "First true road-switchers in America ~ four RS-1's built for Rock Island in 1941 ~ were drafted in 1942. No. 748 went to the Alaska Railroad which enclosed it with a winter protection shield."
