Portraits 5. Here is a steam locomotive portrait by an unidentified photographer that was taken near Baltimore, Maryland, on 25 September 1949. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #1985, a K-4SA (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata as a K-4S during March of 1918, later rebuilt as a K-4SA, and retired in November of 1956 after 38 years of faithful service. Note the hand-throttle mounted on the smokebox. (#32 of 40)
