Portraits 3. Here is a steam locomotive portrait by an unidentified photographer that was taken in Columbus, Ohio, on 13 July 1957. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9989, an H-10S built in Juniata as Vandalia H-8C number "419" during February of 1912, rebuilt by Vandalia as H-8SC number "361" in September of 1916, renumbered PRR "8824" in 1917, rebuilt in Juniata as an H-10S in November of 1920, renumbered "9889" in 1951, later renumbered "9989," and retired in August of 1957 after 45 years of faithful service. Note that its brass bell and main rods have been removed. (#24 of 33)
