Here is page two of a six-page article by Charles Kerr, Jr., entitled "Locomotives Of The Future." It was published originally in the January 1943 issue of "Trains" magazine, page 29. Partial Caption: "Seventeen months before Pearl Harbor, the Pennsylvania Railroad ordered from the Baldwin Locomotive Works two experimental steam locomotives indicative of the shape of things to come." Shown here is PRR engine #6110, a T-1 (4-4-4-4) "Duplex" built by Baldwin during April of 1942 and retired in December of 1953 after just 11 years of revenue service.
