At this point, New York and Long Branch trains change engines and continue to the northern New Jersey shore. April 1956. Photo by Don Wood." #5406 is a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in February of 1927 and retired in February of 1958 after 31 years of faithful service. Mr Woods' Caption: "Baldwin built 5406 on the 'trailer track' near Connover's Cove, South Amboy. Steam K4's usually waited here for GG1-powered trains from New York." |
