LIRR 345, DD-2, 1949         
Here is a photo of Long Island Railroad engine #345 ~ consisting of #345-A on the right, and #345-B on the left. Both are DD-1's (2-B+B-2) built in Juniata during June of 1911 and rated at 3,160 horsepower. They first served on the Pennsylvania Railroad, but were transferred to the Long Island Rail Road in December of 1927. #345-A was originally numbered "3944," while #345-B was originally numbered "3946." The photographer's name is not recorded. Henry C. Westenberger Collection.
