PRR Eastbound Freight, 1962
Oil Power. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken just West of Mount Union, Pennsylvania, in August of 1962. Shown here is a pair of Baldwin-built "Shark" A-units as they pull a mixed-cargo freight train through the interlocking at JACKS Tower in "Jack's Narrows." The Tower's shadow is visible at the far right. Many thanks to Mr. Rick Erben for identifying this location correctly.

Rick Erben General Believe this is eastbound at Jacks in Jacks Narrows west of Mt. Union. Also note all of the weeds growing between the rails of No.3 track west of the crossover between No3 and No.4. No.3 track was removed from service between Jacks and Hunt prior to 1960. The block station casts a long shadow in this early morning view. Simply wonderful series of PRR shots that you have posted and thanks. 3/11/2021 8:40:43 AM
