"Trains" Magazine, April 1957
Here is a photo from a section edited by Rosemary Entringer called "Would you believe it?" It was published originally in the April 1957 issue of "Trains" magazine, page 49. Partial Caption: "One generous dome served two purposes....Sand dome was around steam dome, but leakage moistened sand and device proved unsatisfactory." Shown here is what would become PRR engine #7027, an E-7SA (4-4-2) "Atlantic" built in Juniata as E-2 number "27" for the Pittsburgh, Ft. Wayne, & Chicago Railroad during 1901, acquired by the PRR and renumbered "7027" in 1903, rebuilt as an E-7SA in November of 1918, and retired in April of 1930 after 29 years of faithful service.
