AHC. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide by John Pickett that was taken at the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 13 October 1955. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #8852 and at least two GM-EMD "E" Class passenger units whose numbers are not recorded. #8852 is an AS-16MS built by the American Locomotive Company in January of 1952 and rated at 1,600 horsepower. It is helping to pull a mail and express train around the Curve and up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin, Pittsburgh, and points West. The date is an approximation.
