Here are pages 15 and 16 of a 17-page cover article by Frederick Westing entitled "GG1: Story Of The Most Famous Electric Locomotive In The Western Hemisphere." They were published originally in the March 1964 issue of "Trains" magazines, page 34-35. Photo by Don Wood. Photo Caption: "On and off their 2-C+C-2 frames, GG-1's under repair fill the shop bay in Wilmington, Del., where Pennsylvania handles all major overhaul work on its electric locomotive roster." Visible in the center is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4893, a GG-1 (2-C-C-2) electric built in Juniata during April of 1940 and rated at 4,620 horsepower.
