Winter Day. Here is an original photo that I took in Altoona, Pennsylvania, in February of 1966. Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6046, an EF-30A built by GM-EMD in February of 1966 and rated at 3,000 horsepower. It's pulling a train of empty hopper cars under the 4th Street Footbridge on its way up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and points West. Two PRR Towers are also visible here: WORKS at the far left, SOUTH at the far right. |
