Hudson River Tunnel Portals, 1962
Electrified. Here is an original photo that I took while riding a Pennsylvania Railroad passenger train into New York City, New York, on 21 June 1962. Prominent here are the twin portals of the PRR's Hudson River Tunnels, as well as the maze of tracks and catenary coming out of and going into them. Visible on the left are three New Haven Railroad EP-5 electric locomotives; several Long Island Railroad commuter cars are also visible on the right. Welcome to "The Big Apple"!
