PRR 2291, EF-25, 1965
Rainy. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train at the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 12 October 1965. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #2291, #2323, #2265, and #2519. #2291, #2323, and #2265 are EF-25's built by EMD and rated at 2,500 horsepower each. #2291 and #2265 were built in 1964, but #2323 was built in 1965. #2519 is a GF-25 built by General Electric in 1962 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. They are pulling a 55-car eastbound TrucTrain around the Curve to Altoona and points East with caboose #477463.
