PRR 2298, EF-25, 1965
17th Street. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 26 June 1965. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #2298, #2306, and #2275. All are EF-25's built by EMD in 1964 and rated at 2,500 horsepower each. They are about to pass under the 17th Street Bridge in Juniata with a 95-car ore train and caboose #477467. Visible at the far right are the East Altoona Roundhouse (foreground) and the East Altoona Coaling Tipple (background). Otherwise, the photo shows dozens and dozens of deadlined locomotives (on the right) and rolling stock (to the left).
