PRR 4651, I-1SA, c. 1955         
Elmira. Here is first of two successive duplicate 35mm color slides of photos by David Connor that were taken near Snedekerville, Pennsylvania, c. 1955. At the left is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4651, an I-1SA (2-10-0) "Decapod" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an I-1S during October of 1923, rebuilt in Juniata as an I-1SA in December of 1938, and retired in September of 1956. At the right is Erie Railroad engine #832, an E8A built by GM-EMD in March of 1951 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. In this context, the steamer's waiting for the diesel-powered passenger train to pass. ("Stoneborobranch"; #9 of 34)
