PC, WYE Track Diagram, 1974
Title:  PC, WYE Track Diagram, 1974
Description:  Here is a "track diagram" of WYE Tower's interlocking and signals located in Duncansville, Pennsylvania. It was drawn by Mr. Ed Spodobalski and published originally in the January-February 1974 issue of "PC Railroader" magazine, page 24. There is one small error in the diagram, however. What is labeled as "H&P Branch" in the upper-left quadrant should actually read "Hollidaysburg Branch." During and after the New Portage Railroad era, this location was known as "New Portage Junction."

Prominent here is a Pennsylvania Railroad coal train as it rounds the Curve on its way down the Allegheny Mountains to the Eastbound Receiving Yard in Altoona. On the far side are its three GM-EMD "F" Class locomotives. On the near side is PRR N-5 cabin car #477630, with a crew member on the rear porch inspecting his train.

PRR Eastbound Freight, 1962
Title:  PRR Eastbound Freight, 1962
Description:  Oil Power. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken just West of Mount Union, Pennsylvania, in August of 1962. Shown here is a pair of Baldwin-built "Shark" A-units as they pull a mixed-cargo freight train through the interlocking at JACKS Tower in "Jack's Narrows." The Tower's shadow is visible at the far right. Many thanks to Mr. Rick Erben for identifying this location correctly.
