Title:  CR 1862, F7A, 1976
Description:  Everyday. Here is an original 35mm color slide by E. Roy Ward that was taken in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, on 24 April 1976. Shown here is recently-repainted Conrail engine #1862, an F7A built by GM-EMD for the New York Central Railroad as number "1862" in October of 1952 and rated at 1,500 horsepower. This unit was heavily damaged during the Summer of 1975, but had been returned to service by the time this photo was taken. Along with another GM-EMD product, it's poised to haul a train of newly-repaired freight cars to Altoona and elsewhere. Visible in the distance are Hollidaysburg's historic "Chimney Rocks."

Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #8894, an AS-10 built by the American Locomotive Company in December of 1950 and rated at 1,000 horsepower. Its crew is shifting Bangor & Aroostook boxcar #4514.

Description:  AHC. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide that was taken at the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1964. Shown here (R to L) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9551 and a pair of B-units whose road numbers are not recorded. All were built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. #9551 is an EH-15 built in December of 1948, rebuilt later as an EF-15A, and retired in September of 1965 after just 17 years of revenue service. The photographer's name and the exact date are not recorded. Produced and distributed by the Hawk Mountain Chapter of the NRHS.
